Clearance underneath the bed is 14-16 inches, depending on the alignment holes used. The clearance is large enough to store the optional trundle underneath. The recommended weight for either the link spring or trundle is 200-250lbs. Some assembly required.
A trundle is an extra mattress frame stored beneath a daybed, which slides out to provide additional sleeping space when needed.
