Why a Daybed?
Daybeds are wonderfully versatile and will fit into many different settings. They offer beautiful seating as well as a decorative bed or additional sleeping space when needed. You can increase the sleeping space even more with the addition of an optional trundle unit, which can be pulled out when you need an extra bed.
: Whether you want the authentic look of solid wood, or a painted wooden daybed, you will find a large selection of wood daybeds at daybeds.com. With wood, you can have a rustic atmosphere with cedar, the perfect cottage charm with a white finish, or an elegant and traditional style with oak.
: Metal, a hollowed metal allow, provides a more contemporary look. Iron, is solid and heavy in weight and leans toward traditional design.
All of our daybeds include a link spring, which is a metal grid that substitutes for a box spring and supports the mattress. For platform-style daybeds, a bunkie board or slat pack is used. A bunkie board is a thin, wooden platform that fits inside the bed frame to evenly support the mattress. A slat pack is a series of wooden or metal slats that attach firmly to the sides of the frame with screws.
Trundles are stored beneath your daybed and create an easy way for you to provide your guests with a comfortable place to sleep. The roll-out trundle simply rolls out from under the daybed to create another twin-size sleeping space, perfect for your child's friend to spend the night. If you'd like to create a king-size bed for guests, you will want to look for a lift-up or pop-up trundle. Lift-up trundles require you to roll out the bed and unfold the legs for support.
Please be aware that pop-up trundles are not safe for children to operate, although they are very popular because they are easy to set up.
