I was first attracted by the price and the modern design. I also liked that this bed is made from renewable raw materials. The bed is sturdy and was easy to assemble. [...].I use this bed for my college student (it replaces a bunk bed)and when she is not here as a guest bed (that's where the trundle comes in handy). Since I just received this bed I cannot comment on durability. But so far I am pleased with my purchase

This is a nice looking bed and since it is extra long, it will fit my 6 foot tall boy's very well. The extra bed on the trundle is a real plus. I'm glad to find this gem of a bed in an extra long form factor. I am able to fit a twin XL on the trundle and it works great even though it was made for a standard twin

The wood color (cherry) was perfect to match our child's other furniture and was of good quality. Overall, we are satisfied with this bed for our daughter. However, I was disappointed to find that there were several things that weren't well constructed, and if I had known of them I would not have been willing to pay so much. First, the frame is somewhat wobbly, although this is not noticeable once you get the mattress on and have the bed situated - it is most noticeable when you are trying to move the bed and it feels like it will fall apart. The caps to the bedposts just loosely rest on top of the posts - they don't attach. Same with the optional shelf, which we purchased. The slats on which the bed sits do not fit properly at the ends of the bed frame, because pre-installed bolts prevent them from sliding in where they are supposed to go - as a result, there is insufficient support for the mattress at the ends and the slats are bunched up together there. Finally - you can't see this in the picture, because it is covered up by the pillows, but - each of the bedposts has an exposed groove running down its length with horizontal metal rods going across the groove; rather than a solid wood post. The purpose is so you can adjust the platform height, however, this is not attractive in my opinion. Also, if you have the bed at a low height, the back railing does not come up very high at all compared to the bedposts.

Pros: The bed is fantastic. Great for tall people. Setup was easy, no tools required. The bed is fully adjustable as to the height and two frames can be used for a bunk bed. The mattress sits on top of wooden planks evenly space approximately 3 inches apart. I decided to stack them right next to each other and purchase a separate piece of wood so I can have the full mattress laying flat, although this is not necessary. I also purchased the trundle bed beneath it. Please note that the trundle bed is a regular size trundle bed 76" not 80", but it DOES fit an 80" mattress beneath it. Of course, approximately two inches from the top and bottom of the mattress will not be supported by the trundle, but this does not affect the mattress. The bed can also be used as a childs bed since it does have a saftey guard. I decided to use this as a back piece since I am leaning it against the wall.

Con: In order for the bed to be the same height as the trundle (when fully lifted) it requires it to be at certain height of course. The problem is, is that you would not be able to sit on the bed as a couch and have your feet touch the floor. I'm 5'11" and I cannot achieve this. If I lower the bed, I would not be able to fit the trundle beneath it. If this is a concern, check the thickness of the mattress. Mine is approximately 9" thick. Also, finding fitted sheets is a mission, but searching the internet helps.

Recommendations: Bolster Pillows.
