Also, one of the pieces of wood was chipped and one of the trundle wheels was cracked. There is no number on the box to call for repairs/replacement parts. Our only other complaint is that the regular-sized twin mattress we bought is actually too short for the bed (again no mention of the need for a bigger mattress in the instructions). But, our 3 yr old LOVES his new bg boy bed, it is the perfect size for him, and I love that it is one of the few day beds that doesn't look girly. It appears well made and should last a long time. Right now we are using the trundle as a drawer (talk about storage space!) and plan to get a larger mattress when our son is a little older.

Word of Caution....the lower trundle is a great space saver however there is no lock to prevent the lower trundle from rolling around after it's been pulled out. We purchased this bed for young kids and have had a handful of problems in the beginning with the bed rolling out from under the person climbing up to the top bed. Also, if a big kid or adult climbs onto the lower bed to and settles in the bed rolls around. We have hard wood floors. Even with a low pile/berber carpet I can see this problem happening. We have yet to find the solution that works best for us to prevent the bed from rolling but have tried several 'fixes'. When I called Hayneedle to express my concern they suggested replacing wheels with wheels that lock. Which is our plan however this issue should be addressed by the manufacturer. It is dangerous.
Also, the wood facing for the lower turndle was cracked when we received the bed. The manufacturer replaced yet the new one also had a crack. It's not a sturdy wood and does need reinforcement. If the wheel issue was addressed by manufacturer I would recommend this bed.

Our kid's room is pretty small and bunk beds would take too much space. This bed was a perfect solution! It was easy to assemble and looks great! WE LOVE IT!!

Like the Day Bed very much. Would have liked the back board to come up higher to match the sides but otherwise like it very much. Have not put mattress on yet so do not know how strong or comfortable it will be but overall looks nice and not too hard to put together. Wood looks very nice.

This came delivered with one box slightly opened and some damage to the wood on both ends in that box. Also, a piece was missing. Luckily it wasn't an exposed piece of wood, so we were able to make our own replacement. Aside from the missing piece, it was easy to assemble, but that is a big deal to me. We have a regular twin sized mattress on the bed and there is quite a bit of space around the mattress exposing the wood slats below which isn't very attractive. I will have to try to find something to cover that.
