Made of solid pine, this daybed has an arm height of 30 inches. Clearance underneath the bed is 14-16 inches, depending on the alignment holes used. The clearance is large enough to store the optional trundle underneath. The recommended weight for either the link spring or optional trundle is 200-250lbs. Some assembly required.
A trundle is an extra mattress frame stored beneath a daybed, which slides out to provide additional sleeping space when needed. Daybeds.com optional trundle packages include a metal, pop-up style trundle. They can be left in the lowered position or elevated in the pop-up position to align with the primary daybed mattress. The pop-up feature allows the daybed to transform from a twin size daybed into a king size bed.
Creating a king size bed out of a daybed and a pop-up trundle is easy, and with the Create-A-King mattress connector, it will be so comfortable you'll never know it comprises two twin mattresses. The Create-A-King isn't necessary for the tranformation, but is an excellent way to cover the seam between the two twin mattresses.
