Made of heavy gauge iron meticulously welded together by exacting craftsmen, decoratively cast by hand-pouring technique. The daybed is then baked at extremely high temperatures in specialty ovens to produce a PowerBond finish - rich and superbly durable. It has a limited lifetime warranty.
The Montgomery Daybed comes with a slatted steel frame to put the mattress on. No link spring required. Some assembly is required. Height at top of arm 38 inches (97 cm), Height at center of back 46 inches (117 cm). Maximum weight capacity is 300 pounds.
A trundle is an extra mattress frame stored beneath a daybed, which slides out to provide additional sleeping space when needed. Daybeds.com optional trundle packages include a metal, pop-up style trundle. They can be left in the lowered position or elevated in the pop-up position to align with the primary daybed mattress. The pop-up feature allows the daybed to transform from a twin size daybed into a king size bed.
Creating a king size bed out of a daybed and a pop-up trundle is easy, and with the Create-A-King mattress connector, it will be so comfortable you'll never know it comprises two twin mattresses. The Create-A-King isn't necessary for the tranformation, but is an excellent way to cover the seam between the two twin mattresses.
