Daybed frames are available in all varieties to suit everyone's taste and needs. The most common daybed frames are constructed of metal, wood, wicker, and a metal and wood combination. The daybed frame usually has three pieces which include two side panels and one back panel. These frames are very versatile. They can be both a sleeping area and a sofa seating space. Most are the standard twin size bed. A standard twin size mattress will fit nicely in any daybed frame.

What is a Link Spring?
The link spring makes for an extremely strong and stable bed. The link spring is the cross bar found in the front of the frame and attaches to the two side panels of the frame. For a mattress to be used as a daybed in the way it's intended a link spring or other twin bed frame is imperative.

Trundle Frames
Another common type of frame is the daybed trundle. This style of frame pops up or pulls out from underneath the top bed. A trundle offers you more sleeping space without taking up the added space. The pop-up trundle elevates to the same height as the mattress.

A pop-up frame also uses a standard twin size mattress. Another style of trundle is the drawer trundle. Drawer trundles hold a twin size mattress but unless it is removed from under the daybed it will not elevate or extend completely out. the Drawer trundles great looking and convenient for sleepovers, visitors or for younger siblings.
