What Is a DayBed? Daybeds are very versatile and can fit into many settings. The optional trundle bed is easily hidden underneath the main bed, and can be pulled out when you need an extra bed. Daybeds make a great sofa/bed combo for your apartment, guest room, den, office, sunroom, or child's room. What Is a Daybed Frame? The frame consists of three pieces: two side panels and one back panel. Daybed frames are commonly available in wood, metal, or a wood/metal combination. Daybed frames are designed to accommodate a standard twin size mattress, 39 in. x 75 in. What Is a Link Spring? The daybed link spring attaches to the two side panels of the daybed frame to create a strong, stable daybed. The link spring is a metal grid-like structure with springs that substitutes for a box spring. This is what the twin mattress rests on allowing room below for the optional trundle bed and additional mattress.

Do All Daybeds Include Link Springs?
Many do, but some, as in the high-quality Hillsdale line, have metal frames that support the mattress, providing a sturdier support system.

What Is a Trundle?
There are two types of daybed trundles; a pop-up trundle or a drawer trundle. Pop-up trundles are more popular because they can transform your twin size daybed into a king size bed. Pop-up trundles are made of metal. They can be left in the lowered position or elevated in the pop-up position. Drawer trundles are typically specific to a bed so the drawer dimensions are just the right fit for the daybed. Drawer trundles hold a twin size mattress, but do not elevate or extend completely out from the daybed, unless you remove the drawer. Drawer trundles are attractive and great for a child's sleepover.

What Size Mattress Do I Need?
All daybeds are made for a standard twin size mattress, 39 in. x 75 in. Trundles also only fit a standard twin size mattress. There will be a slight gap between the mattress and the sides of the daybed. This allows you to put daybed bedding on the mattress.

Which Mattress Is Best for Me?

What Is the Difference Between Soft, Medium, and Firm Mattresses?

• Soft - A soft support daybed mattress will allow your body to sink furthest into the mattress. This type of mattress has a less dense inner foam core and more fill around the foam core.
• Medium - A medium daybed support mattress will allow your body to sink into the mattress some, but will offer a good amount of support. The make up will have a more dense foam core and less fill around the foam than a soft support offers.
• Firm - A firm support daybed mattress will allow for complete body support with very little fill between the foam core and the mattress cover. A mattress filled with a majority of dense foam core will allow for a firm support that will not let your body sink as much as a medium support.

What Is the Difference Between Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Mattresses?

• Standard - A standard quality daybed mattress is recommended for a daybed that will not be getting everyday use. These are good mattresses, but may not satisfy someone who is planning on using their daybed as their everyday sofa or primary bed.

Do DayBeds Come In a Full Size?
Daybeds are strictly a twin size bed. If you want a full size bed with the look of a daybed, try a full size futon. There are futons available that have the same finished look as a day bed.

Do Daybeds Come in a King Size?
When the trundle bed of the daybed is in its popped up position, the daybed doubles as a king size bed.

What Is a DayBed Cover?
Daybed covers are an alternative to daybed bedding. The fabric lays directly on top of the mattress, and drops all the way from the mattress top to the floor on the front three sides. The appearance of a daybed with a cover is more of a sofa than a bed. Covers give the daybed a more tailored, modern, sleek look.

What Is a DayBed Comforter Set?
